Cheyenne Mountain State Park is a great destination for those looking for a peaceful camping experience near Colorado Springs. The campground features huge, clean campsites with paved parking pads, crushed stone patios edged with timber, picnic tables, fire pits, and tent spots with tie-downs. The sites offer fantastic views of the city, nearby military bases, and Cheyenne Mountain. There are plenty of tourist attractions within a short drive, and Colorado Springs has everything you may need for shopping, dining, and RV maintenance. The park also has abundant hiking and biking trails that go from prairie grasslands to mountainous evergreens, and geo-caches for kids to explore. Facilities include concrete and asphalt pads, stable power, close sewer and water connections, and coin-operated showers. A daily Colorado State Park pass of $8/day is required, and can be purchased at the entrance gate or at the visitor center.
