Golden Eagle Campground in Colorado Springs is a remote and quiet campsite thats close to everything like grocery stores and other sites to visit around 30 minutes away, such as North Cheyenne Caon and Garden of the Gods. This site is an excellent location to enjoy the peaceful little pond as well as the little trail that goes to a nice view, which is also great for exercise. The campsite staff is super nice and accommodating. Although the spots need a bit of leveling, the staff is continuously making repairs and improvements to the campground, such as installing asphalt and large rocks throughout the site to reduce mud and watershed coming through the site. The electric, water, sewage and fire ring are not on the same side. The bathrooms and laundry machines are old, but they are spotlessly clean and functional. The playground is a bit old-school but well-enjoyed by kids. The basketball court is a field of grass, so it would be great to see cement poured so it can be enjoyed better. The owners also warned us of an active bear nearby but seeing wildlife is always a great experience.
