From The Campground

Elkhead Reservoir State Park is a 900-acre oasis in the high desert of northwest Colorado. The park offers endless recreational opportunities, including boating, swimming, jet skiing, skiing, picnicking, wildlife watching, hiking, camping, bird watching, biking, horseback riding, hunting, and fishing. The park has two campgrounds, Bears Ears and Pronghorn, but they do not have water hydrants or dump stations. Visitors can use the dump station at Yampa River State Park.
