From The Campground
North Clear Creek Campground is located in Rio Grande National Forest and offers easy to intermediate hunting opportunities for elk in Unit 76. The campground is an excellent spot for wildlife viewing, with deer, elk, moose, and ducks frequently spotted. The campground has picnic tables, tent camping, parking, toilets, and drinking water available. The area is also great for scenic driving, with the Silver Thread Scenic Byway and improved forest roads nearby. The pavement type for parking is gravel, and vehicle clearance is good. The campground is located at an elevation of 9900 feet and has 35 foot spurs for campers. Falling trees can be a hazard in the area, so visitors should be cautious. Reservations can be made through Recreation.gov.
