The North Crestone Creek Camground is the perfect spot for a camping getaway. Located just a few miles uphill from Crestone Colorado, this campground is nestled in the pines at the base of mountain range. Its a great spot for a day trip to explore the local artist galleries and gift shops. The sites are positioned along the creek up the mountain and have pit toilets, picnic tables, and fire rings. The campground is overused and in need of some basic maintenance, so be prepared for overgrown sites and unkept facilities. Mosquitoes can be a problem in the summer, so be sure to bring bug repellent. The lots are spread out, so you wont feel crowded, and you can enjoy the peace and quiet of the area. Dont forget to bring cash for the $7 per night fee. Be mindful of the bear activity in the area and make sure to store your food properly. Enjoy the river and the backpacking trail at the end of the camping spots, and you may even wake up to a blanket of snow!
