What others are saying
Its a basic campground with no amenities. There are six sites, all back-in with 30 amp power and a shared water connection. Its located in the La Plata Fairgrounds and is close to downtown Durango. Its a gravel lot with no picnic tables, fire pits, bathrooms, showers, or green grass. The electrical pedestals contain (2) 30 amp service and you will need a long water hose to reach the spigot. Verizon air card and cell phone reception was good. There is a Parks and Recreation facility nearby with an indoor pool, a lazy river float, hot tub, a weight room and many other amenities. It can be a bit noisy due to the Durango to Silverton train running right next to the fairgrounds and the maintenance area behind the campground. The weekends can have events going on which could make it a bit tight to get in and out with your RV. It is very affordable, however, and a great location for exploring Durango.

From The Campground
The La Plata County Fairgrounds is a 32-acre facility located in the heart of Durango. It features a 10,000 square foot exhibit hall, 6 spacious meeting rooms, a rodeo arena that seats 1,600, a 33,000 square foot pavilion for livestock shows and exercising horses, 2 baseball fields, and a picnic shelter that seats 60. The facility hosts a variety of events throughout the year, including the annual La Plata County Fair and Fiesta Days. Year-round activities include business and social functions, consumer shows, trade shows, equestrian activities, rodeos and livestock events, concerts, and recreational uses including baseball and lacrosse.
