This campground is located right off HWY 228 and is perfect for access to Denver or short jaunts to the mountains (30 minutes to Idaho Springs!). The park is large and features mature trees, landscaping, and a creek running alongside the property. The park is owned by a very frugal owner who refuses to maintain it properly, resulting in numerous maintenance issues. Despite this, the park is still a great option for families, as it is nicely landscaped and offers plenty of space between sites. The manager is friendly and vigilant, ensuring that children are supervised at all times. Unfortunately, the shower area is not cleaned daily and does not provide basic amenities like hand soap or paper towels. There is a nice creek side bike path behind the park, but the park is not considered safe for walking around.
