The campground is surrounded by beautiful mountain views, and the camp hosts are very kind and helpful. The sites are small and close together, but there is enough foliage to allow for some privacy. There are also additional bathhouses for complete privacy when showering. The roads are very narrow, so only small trailers under 24 ft are allowed. Wildlife is abundant, and visitors can enjoy the free shuttle to Estes Park. This campground is perfect for those looking for a peaceful, rustic getaway.

The Estes Valley Recreation and Park District Campgrounds offer two options for camping: East Portal and Mary's Lake. East Portal is a first-come, first-served campground with 15 sites, while Mary's Lake offers 50 sites that can be reserved in advance. Both campgrounds are located in beautiful natural settings and offer easy access to hiking trails and other outdoor activities. Amenities include picnic tables, fire rings, and vault toilets. There are no showers or hookups available. Pets are allowed but must be kept on a leash.
