What others are saying about this campground
Paradise on the River is a small, cozy campground located off Highway 66 on the way to Rocky Mountain National Park. It is nestled along the Big Thompson River, offering beautiful views and a peaceful atmosphere. The campground is comprised of cabins and RV rental units, with only 6 sites available for transient RVs. The sites are very close together and the roads are narrow, so larger rigs may have difficulty navigating. The pads are gravel and each site has either a wooden patio or deck overlooking the river. The daily rate includes tax for a weeks stay and there is an additional cost of $3.50 per day for cable hook-up. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the facilities are immaculately maintained. Unfortunately, the campground is very congested, so the sites are very small and close together. The entrance is a steep one-lane drive, so be prepared. The stream current is too fast for fishing, but the sound is very soothing. The location is very convenient, but the directions to the campground are difficult to follow and the street signs in town are hard to read.
