Golden Gate Canyon State Park is a remote campground located in the beautiful Colorado mountains. It offers stunning views, a friendly staff, and electric hookups for RVs. The open pine forest provides plenty of shade, and there are still some signs of the snow storms that came through in the late spring. The sites are a bit crowded with trees, and the fire rings are close to the boards, but you can make it work if youre careful. The bath house is clean and has showers and laundry facilities. There are plenty of recreation opportunities, including a gambling mecca in Blackhawk, and the roads are steep and twisting. The campsites are well spaced and have 30 amp electric hookups, fire rings, and plenty of trees for privacy. There is no Wi-Fi or cell service, and the only water is near the dump station. There are no nearby restaurants, so this is the perfect place to go to be with nature. All roads are dirt and mud until you get into the campground, so be prepared for a mess.
