GenieSummary

Glens Cove is a low-cost campground that offers a variety of activities such as fishing, power boating, canoeing, kayaking, biking, and a quiet place to stay. The campground has a concrete boat ramp, dock, and slips with electric for up to 25-foot boats, enclosed fish cleaning station, and plenty of room for trailer parking or boat and RV storage. The St Marys river waterfront common area is very large and perfect for watching the freighters go by, napping in the hammock, or enjoying campfires and lively discussions just about every evening. The campground is pet-friendly and has a playground for the kids. Most sites are well shaded, and a few on the hill are satellite friendly. Fire pits, picnic tables, 30 amp, and water are available at all sites, plus a dump cart and small tractor for all to use for the dump station. The camp access road and all interior roads are well maintained gravel. Showers and bathrooms are scattered around the park, and there is an honor system laundry on the hill near the entrance. The camp store is well stocked with fishing gear and rental movies. There are twenty-five RV sites, 5 tent sites, and four waterfront cabins. Wi-Fi and rental motors and boats are available at the office. The owners live on site, are very friendly, and go out of their way to be sure everyone has a great camping visit. The camping rate reflects Passport America discount, seven days or more is $18. However, the sites are very crowded, and there is lots of dust due to the dirt sites. Additionally, there are millions of flies due to the close proximity of horses and their by-products. The swimming pool is indoor and seemed clean, but the dressing rooms for the swimming pool were fair. Due to the dirt, small spaces, and flies, the reviewer would never camp there again.

From The Campground

Green Ridge Campground is located on Shadow Mountain Reservoir and offers 79 non-electric sites for tents, trailers, and RVs. The campground provides picnic tables, campfire rings, tent pads, flush and vault toilets, and drinking water. Firewood is available for purchase from the campground host. The campground also has a boat ramp and dock. Visitors can enjoy boating, fishing, and hiking in the area. Pets are allowed on a hand-held leash. Due to the mountain pine beetle infestation, there is little to no shade available in the campground.
