Rio Grande Campground is a beautiful camping destination located in the Rio Grande National Forest. The campground offers 35 sites for tent and RV camping, with some sites accommodating up to 40-foot units. Visitors can enjoy fishing in the nearby Rio Grande River, with seasonal fish species and lures and flies only designations. Hiking and horse riding are also popular activities, with easy to intermediate difficulty levels. The campground also offers picnic areas and scenic driving opportunities, with forest road #520 over Stoney Pass providing beautiful mountain views of the Rio Grande Pyramid and Window. Amenities include picnic tables, toilets, and drinking water. Visitors should be aware of falling trees and follow Leave No Trace and Tread Lightly principles. Reservations can be made through Recreation.gov.
