From The Campground
Peaceful Valley Campground is located in the Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests & Pawnee National Grassland. The campsite spurs range from 25 to 40 feet in length and campfires are generally allowed, unless seasonal restrictions are in effect. Visitors may gather dead and down wood for burning while visiting the National Forest. Campgrounds with hosts offer firewood for sale. The campground offers river and stream fishing, horse riding, OHV road riding, and winter sports such as XC skiing and snowshoeing. The Middle Saint Vrain Road is seasonally closed just outside of Peaceful Valley Campground. Limited parking is available along the north side of the road. Buchanan Pass Trail takes off to the left about 400 feet west of the gate. It hugs the north-facing side of the valley and as a result, retains snow better than the road. Middle Saint Vrain Road can also be a nice ski or snowshoe route, if there has been recent snow and if not too windy.
