What others are saying about this campground
Morefield Campground is located inside Mesa Verde National Park and is run by Aramark. It is a great place to explore the ancient Indian civilization, with lots of stairs and ladders to climb, a tunnel to crawl through, and great hiking trails. The campground is comfortable and quiet, with free showers, coin laundry, and a general store. Sites are set up with parking areas up above, with steps down into the gambel oak grove where the tent pad and picnic table are. There are also bathrooms with running water and bear boxes for food storage. The campground is a great launching-off point for exploring Mesa Verde and offers a variety of trails to explore, including the Petroglyph Point Trail. It is also the only National Park campground with wifi, free showers, and paid laundry. The campground is a bit more expensive than most at $36 per night, but it is worth it for the quietness and privacy of the camp sites.
