GenieSummary

Montrose/Black Canyon National Park KOA Journey is a great place to stay and explore the west slope area. The location is perfect as its close to the national park and in town. The cabin was clean and well-maintained, and the bathrooms were the cleanest campground bathrooms one visitors have encountered. The bunkhouse cabin is nice, although the queen bed was uncomfortable, and the floor was a little dirty. Despite the lack of onsite management, the campground offers a good value for money and is quiet, especially during the off-season. However, visitors noted that the office and store were closed during the entire stay, and the hosts never checked on their needs, even when passing by multiple times. Also, some visitors reported that the owner was rude upon arrival, accusing them of not checking the late check-in box after they already had. The cabins next to the office, laundromat, and ice machine lack aesthetics. The microwave didnt work, and there were no coffee filters on site. Additionally, there were no blankets on the bed, only a thin one on the shelf. Visitors reported that shady cars drove through the campground frequently.
