San Luis State Park is a great destination for those looking for a peaceful and secluded camping experience. Located near the Great Sand Dunes National Park, the campground features spacious sites with breathtaking views of the dunes, lake, sand dunes, and mountains. The sites come with fire rings, shaded picnic tables, and electric hook-ups. Unfortunately, there are no water hook-ups, showers, or restrooms available, however there are pit toilets located throughout the park. The park is beautifully maintained with concrete pads, and there are plenty of pull-through sites with great views of the lake, sand dunes, and mountains. The park is also very quiet, even on weekends, and there are wind/shade shelters at each site. Mosquitos can be a problem in the summer, so be sure to bring plenty of bug spray.
