Located in the beautiful Chalk Creek Canyon near the historic ghost town of St Elmo, this campground is the perfect spot to explore the natural beauty of Colorado. With plenty of trees providing privacy between sites, its a great spot for tents, trailers, and small RVs. There are pit toilets and fire rings/grills, as well as a picnic table at each site. You can also find a nearby waterfall that creates a subtle white noise. The area is great for hiking, mountain biking, and off-roading, and you can explore the nearby hot springs resort and spa for some pampering. Be sure to drive carefully on the roads, as they can become slick with snow and ice due to the elevation. Payment is by cash, check, or money order with a self-servicing tube. The campground is open from mid-May to mid-October, and prior to Memorial Day weekend and after Labor Day, sites may be first-come, first-served and host and water may not be available.
