From The Campground

Thistledown Campground is a heavily used campground adjacent to the historic site of Thistledown and the Weehawken Trailhead in Canyon Creek near Ouray, CO. It is recommended for tent camping and is popular among hikers planning to hike into Mount Sneffles and other nearby trails, as well as those who enjoy wildflowers in Yankee Boy Basin or driving on local jeep trails. The campground has 9 single sites available on a first-come, first-serve basis for $10 per night per camping unit. There is a vault toilet available, but no water. Campers are required to store food and other items in a hard-sided vehicle or camping unit constructed of solid non-pliable material. Nearby activities include camping, hiking, and picnicking.
