The campground offers spacious sites with level concrete pads, gravel patios, covered picnic tables, fire pits, and water pumps. The park is great for families, with a peaceful atmosphere and plenty of outdoor activities to enjoy. There are hiking trails, fishing, kayaking, and a nearby golf course. The town of Rifle has a City Market grocery store and plenty of restaurants and gas stations. The campground is well maintained, with clean and cozy sites, and the roads are paved and well marked. Unfortunately, cell service is weak and there is no cable or WiFi, but some campers have boosters for a decent signal. The lake is good for kayaking, but due to low water levels, there is a lot of boat and jet ski traffic on the weekends. Additionally, there is an additional $7.00 per day fee for the use of the state park. Veterans are exempt from the day use fee during the month of August.

Rifle Gap State Park is a beautiful park located in Rifle, Colorado. The park features a 350-acre reservoir that offers excellent opportunities for boating, fishing, swimming, water-skiing, and windsurfing. The park also has 89 campsites that are open year-round, including the winter. Rifle Gap is close to many other outdoor attractions and is 40 miles from Glenwood Springs’ famous hot springs.
