This campground is located within walking distance of Isabel Lake, a great spot for fishing. It is a rustic but clean campground with electric hookups, clean vaulted toilets, and potable water. Unfortunately, campers are not allowed to hook up to the water spigot, so they must bring their own water. The sites are a little close together, but the campground is lush and surrounded by aspen and ponderosa pine trees. Fishing in the lake is good, especially if you have a canoe or belly boat. There is no water or sewer hookup, but the campground host will not let you hook up a fresh water hose to the spigot. The campground is also close to Bishop Castle, a great place to visit. The campground hosts are friendly and warned visitors about bear activity. The campground is very affordable, with rates of $8 per night for dry camping and $12 per night for full hookups. Reservations can be made in advance and discounts are available for seniors.
