Molas Lake Park & Campground is a 137-acre wooded campground located in Silverton, Colorado. The campground is completely surrounded by national forest and other public lands including a wilderness area. It features 58 campsites, four day-use areas, and a store that sells basic fishing and camping supplies, souvenirs, snacks, ice cream, and drinks. The campground has hot water shower facilities available for $5.00 per token. The most common species of fish in the lake are rainbow and brown trout, and fishing licenses can be purchased online from Colorado Parks and Wildlife. Pets are welcome, but all dogs must be on-leash at all times when in the park and never left unattended. The campground has amazing hikes for all abilities directly from the campground, and many other hiking trails are a short drive from the campground. World-class mountain bike trails are close by in the Durango and Cortez area. ATVs cannot be ridden in the campground and surrounding trails. Molas Lake Campground is surrounded by BLM lands and wilderness areas. ATVs must be placed on a trailer from the campground and driven to the allowed areas within the Town of Silverton and other many surrounding OHV staging areas.
