Dumont Campground in Steamboat Springs, CO is a beautiful spot near Rabbit Ears Pass. The classic wildflowers, water, and greenery make for a picturesque location. The campground is a short distance down a gravel road and was not crowded during our stay. There are bathrooms, trash bins, and water available. The views are stunning, and while its not directly on the lake, there is a trail leading to the lake. This is a great spot for RV campers, but not bad for tent camping either. The hikes leading out of the campsite are fantastic, and the wildflowers were fully blooming in mid-August. The campground has two water hand pumps and vault bathrooms, and it is well-maintained. The reservation system can be improved, but spots can be reserved ahead of time. You might have to settle for an open spot if all reserved spots are occupied, but we were able to grab an available spot during our stay. Dumont lake is nearby, which is great for fishing, canoeing, and other water activities. The campground has cell service and is nicely spaced out with good space between each spot. Overall, it is a great location in a beautiful area, and we recommend it for anyone visiting the Steamboat Springs area.
