From The Campground
Dumont Lake Campground is a beautiful campground located in the Medicine Bow-Routt National Forests & Thunder Basin National Grassland. The campground offers 22 sites, with a combination of pull-through and back-in sites. The lake is restricted to electric motors or hand-propelled boats only. The campground has vault toilets, picnic tables, and firegrates. Currently, there is no drinking water available, so campers must pack water in. Activities include fishing, boating, hiking, backpacking, and mountain biking at or near the lake. The area borders on the Continental Divide and sits on top of the Park Range, offering spectacular views of several Colorado mountain ranges. Bird watchers and wildflower enthusiasts will find this area a paradise. Visitors wishing to hike a scenic trail can reach the two-mile Rabbit Ears Trail from the campground and the Continental Divide National Scenic Trail just a short drive away.
