What others are saying
North Sterling State Park in Sterling, CO is a well-maintained, clean, and quiet campground. The campsites are spacious and offer fire pits and covered tables, but water hookups are not provided. The Inlet Grove Campground offers pull-through gravel pads and nearby grassy areas for pets, but be mindful of prickly weeds. The bathroom facilities are very spacious and clean, but showers may have cold water. The lake and hiking trails offer beautiful views and short hikes to some scenic spots. The park rangers and camp hosts are friendly and helpful. Check-in can be a bit confusing, as there may not be anyone directing, but the park is worth a visit for short stopovers or extended stays. From The Campground

North Sterling State Park is a large, spacious reservoir on the high plains that draws locals and tourists alike from May through September and waterfowl hunters during the hunting season. Elks Campground is open year-round. A boater's paradise, this large irrigation reservoir offers great coves and fingers to explore during the spring and summer months. Anglers, boaters, and water skiers enjoy the water all day, while land lovers hike, bike, or picnic. Broad, golden grasslands stretch out in all directions from North Sterling Reservoir, bordered by majestic bluffs to the north, farm and ranchlands to the east, and clear blue skies above. Hunters will find excellent waterfowl hunting on the reservoir.
