Sunshine Campground is a hidden gem located just 15 minutes from Telluride, Colorado. It is a first come, first serve campground with 17 sites that are best suited for smaller RVs and car/truck tent campers. The campground is surrounded by Aspen trees that turn brilliant colors in the fall and offer a stunning view of Mt Wilson and Sunshine Mountain. Each campsite has a picnic table, fire pit, and access to vault toilets. Unfortunately, the water system is out of commission and will not be repaired until 2022. Despite the lack of water, the campground is well maintained and a great spot for an overnight stay or multi-day camping trip. Campers will enjoy the convenience of being close to Telluride and the abundance of hiking and biking trails nearby. With minimal road noise and beautiful views, Sunshine Campground is the perfect spot for a peaceful camping experience.

Sunshine Campground is a single loop, paved campground with 15 campsites nestled in a dense aspen forest featuring a small mountain lake. Maximum spur length - 35 feet. A spectacular view of Sunshine Peak is visible from many sites. The campground is convenient to Telluride and its many shops and restaurants. The campground offers potable pressurized water and portable toilets. There are no reservations, and camping is first-come, first-serve. The fee is $24 per night per camping unit, and $6 per day for day use/picnic in a campsite. Showers are available at the Matterhorn Campground for $8. The campground is open from May to October 10th. The campground is heavily used during the summer season. Campers are required to store food and other items in a hard-sided vehicle or camping unit constructed of solid non-pliable material.
