Gore Creek Campground is a great spot for a quick getaway near Vail, Colorado. Located just 10-15 minutes outside of Vail, the campground is nestled in a densely wooded area, providing plenty of privacy for campers. Each campsite has a bear locker, fire pit, picnic table, and long parking spot (30+ ft), and is close to the sound of the nearby river. The bathrooms are kept in excellent condition and the camp hosts are friendly and welcoming. The campground is close to I-70 and the Vail Pass bike path, and is home to some of the best small creek Fly Fishing in Colorado. There are plenty of hiking trails in the area, and the campground is a great spot for a night of camping on a drive from Southern California to Denver.

From The Campground
Gore Creek Campground is located in the heart of the Rocky Mountains, in the White River National Forest. The campground offers 16 back-in sites, eight walk-in tent sites, and four handicapped accessible bathrooms. The campground is located near the boundary of the Eagles Nest Wilderness, and there are several trailheads nearby into the Eagles Nest Wilderness. The campground is also located at the west end of the paved Vail Pass/Tenmile Canyon recreation trail open to foot traffic and bicycles. Nearby attractions include the town of Vail, which offers a multitude of outdoor and indoor opportunities in this resort mountain town.
