This campground is a great place to stay for a weekend getaway near Denver. It offers spacious sites with some having great views of the lake and some not. There are no hookups so generators may be used. It is a great walking park with trails and down to the lake. There is a water spigot next to the pull-thrus for those needing to fill water. The bathrooms and showers are clean and the grounds are well maintained. The roads are winding and not clearly marked so it can be difficult to find your way around. It is a no reservations campground and you can often get in during week days and weekends. There is a $7 daily entry fee, but you can buy an annual $16 senior pass to get rid of this fee. The lake offers boating opportunities and there is a 400+ acre dog park adjacent to the lake. It is a great value for your money and the staff are very helpful.
