All in all, Broad River Outpost is a great campground for a peaceful weekend getaway or fishing trip with friends. The grounds are clean, the bathrooms are well-maintained, and each site has a picnic table, lantern post, and fire ring. Some sites could use some updating, but overall the campground is a great place to stay. The only downside is that there is no cell phone service, so be sure to plan accordingly.

From The Campground

Broad River Campground is located on the south bank of the Broad River, where it joins the Savannah River, on Clarks Hill - J. Strom Thurmond Lake – the largest Corps of Engineers lake east of the Mississippi River. This quiet, rural area is very historic, near the now-flooded town of Petersburg. The Broad River Park and Campground features a boat ramp, dump stations, electrical hook-ups, shower/bath house, campsites and fish cleaning stations. Of the 31 campground sites, Broad River has 7 Double sites and 2 Triple sites for rental. The campground is a great place to bring your flat bottom boat, kayaks, canoe or simply a lounger chair to relax.
