What others are saying about this campground
This campground is located in the Blackwater River State Forest, and offers a great spot for fishing, hiking, and canoeing. It is split up into two areas on either side of the lake (the upper and lower), both with walking paths, camping, and lake access. There is a central RV dump station at the exit, as well as a shower house on site. The trails are beautiful and have an abundance of wildlife, and the lake is stocked for fishing. The campground is pet friendly, and the facilities are very nice and well maintained. The campground is great for a quick, safe, weekend trip, or for those who want to take their time and do some fishing. However, fishing may currently be prohibited due to the lake system in the Blackwater Forest being under renovation. The price is higher now, with fees and taxes, and the grass was very high when we visited. The bathrooms were clean but dated, and there were bugs in the sinks. Bring bug spray for sure!
