Karick Lake Recreation Center is a serene and beautiful campground located in the Florida Forest Services Trailwalker Program. It features a 65-acre lake, a 4-mile Karick Lake Loop Trail, a public boat ramp, and 15 back-in RV sites with electricity and water. The campground is located in an area of mostly large southern pines, providing good space between campsites, and the campground is generally quiet. There is a portable toilet and a dumping station, and the campground is well maintained by the campground hosts. It features a beautiful lakefront view and the hosts are very attentive and welcoming. Fishing is possible with a boat, and there are several hiking trails to explore. The campground is family friendly and the host has supplied wi/fi for a donation. The restrooms are immaculately cleaned at least once daily, and the campground host is available to help set up camp. There are no gators in the lake, but there are beavers that come out at night. Bass, bluegill, and catfish are abundant in the lake, and there is a good boat ramp.

The Karick Lake South Campground is located within the Karick Lake Recreation Area, in the Blackwater River State Forest (Okaloosa County), about 1-hour northeast of Pensacola, FL. This campground is located on the south side of Karick Lake (65-acres) and has the following facilities: campsites with electricity and water (potable) for recreational vehicles or tents, dump station, restrooms and showers, boat ramp and pier. Recreational activities featured here are: fishing, boating, canoeing, picnicking, bird watching, wildlife viewing, nature study and photography.
