What others are saying about this campground
Cary State Forest Campground is a tranquil and secluded campground located just off the main highway, 30 minutes from Jacksonville and a bit more to the coast. There are only 6 sites set a good distance apart, offering plenty of privacy. The sites are huge with plenty of room for RVs, vehicles, and trailers, and feature a large, level concrete pad with fire ring, picnic table, and charcoal grill. The campground also has a dump station and access in and out of the park is convenient. The restrooms and showers are located at the entrance, and the campground is very clean with a trash can at the edge of each site. Wildlife is minimal, but the birdsong is beautiful. There are groomed trails and a beautiful pavilion for family events. The campground offers America the Beautiful Senior Pass discounts, Military CGs, City, County, and State Parks. At night it is dark and quiet, with no artificial lighting.
