What others are saying about this campground
This campground is a great central location for outdoor adventures, shopping, and touring. It offers a variety of activities and events including bingo, pot luck suppers, breakfast events, and movie night. The sites are a combination of scrub-grass, sand, and dirt with concrete patios and old, soiled, and splintered wooden picnic tables. All sites are full hookup 30/50 amp with cable and free WiFi for daily/weekly stays. The park is surrounded by huge water oaks with hanging moss, adding to the picturesque nature of the campground. There is a lake with slow moving boats, a clear spring fed river for tubing and canoeing, and great fishing for panfish, bluegill, crappie, and bass. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the park is owned and operated by an extremely nice family with great Southern hospitality. The store has many essential items, fishing tackle, and live bait available as well as a good laundry, swimming pool, and clubhouse.

From The Campground

Lake Rousseau RV Resort is a beautiful and clean park located at the water's edge. The park is surrounded by ancient live oak trees and offers a dose of calm for your spirit. The park has a nice fishing area and a fishing pier, and the restrooms are clean. The 3,500-acre dam-controlled lake is one of the finest in the state for trophy-sized bass and great crappie and bluegill. Lake Rousseau is fed by the Withlacoochee River and the natural springs of the Rainbow River, which flow into the Withlacoochee at Dunnellon. These two rivers provide Lake Rousseau with an abundant supply of water. The park has its own boat launch, and there's a public brackish water launch below the dam, where you can put in and reach the Gulf of Mexico, as well as a second freshwater launch into the lake. The park is close enough to amenities but still secluded.
