What others are saying about this campground
Gamble Rogers State Park is a well-maintained and clean campground located on the Florida coast. With the ocean right outside your window, its a great value for the price. The campground has a variety of sites, both on the ocean side and riverside. The ocean side sites are closely packed and right next to the road, so there is some traffic noise, but you can still enjoy a beautiful sunrise from your window. The riverside sites are much more spacious with gravel pads, new hookups, fire rings, wood for sale, and a dump station. There is a mile-long hiking trail, bike paths, kayaking on the Inter-Coastal Waterway, fishing, and a small butterfly garden. The beach is great for walking, but not ideal for runners. The campground has a locked access gate, so entering and leaving can be slow. The beach is full of shells and is a feeding place for birds, and during certain months you can see sea turtles nesting and laying eggs. There is a seafood restaurant and a pizza place nearby that deliver to the campground. Firewood and ice can be purchased from the campground host and ranger station. All sites are full of unrelenting Florida sun, so bring extra canopies and fans.

From The Campground
Gamble Rogers Memorial State Recreation Area at Flagler Beach is a 145-acre park located on a barrier island between the Atlantic Ocean and the Intracoastal Waterway. The park is named after Florida folk singer and storyteller Gamble Rogers. Visitors can swim, play, and build sandcastles on the beach, fish for red drum, whiting, flounder, and trout, explore the plant and animal life in the maritime hammock, and enjoy a picnic at one of the park's many sheltered tables. The park offers a campground for overnight stays, and visitors can also canoe or kayak in the Intracoastal Waterway where they might see dolphins or manatees. The park also features a butterfly garden and hosts events such as Gamble Jam and guided kayak tours.
