Covered Wagon Campground in Homosassa, FL is a small and primarily long-term stay RV park with a limited number of overnight spots available. Despite being located under a large tree that was shedding, the pull-thru site was spacious. However, the campground itself appeared to be poorly maintained and cramped with several individuals residing there full-time. Although the reservation was made weeks in advance and confirmed the day before arrival, there were issues with the booking. When arriving on the exact date, the front office was unstaffed, and another camper was in the reserved space (#3). Contacting the posted number led to no answer, but after the second attempt, the camper was informed that the park was expecting them the previous day and only a temporary partial hookup site was available. There was no offer of a refund or apology for the mistake, and they then had to move into the reserved site the following day. Despite intending to explore the Crystal River area, this caused a delay in their plans.
