From The Campground
Bear Island Campground is a primitive campground located in Big Cypress National Preserve. The campground has 40 designated sites, with sites 1-12 open year-round and sites 13-40 open from August 15-April 15. The campground has no water, but vault toilets are available. Access to the campground is at the end of a 20-mile secondary gravel road. Nearby are Gator Head (9 sites) and Pink Jeep (9 sites) Campgrounds. The maximum length of stay for any camping activity within the national preserve is 180 days in a 12-month period. Tent sites are available for $10 per night, or $5 with a Senior or Access Pass.
