Riverside Retreat is a campground/RV park located on the grounds of a former Methodist church retreat and borders the Caloosahatchee River. It is open to all, with full hook-up sites available for a daily rate based upon monthly occupancy. The roads and sites are not paved, but it is a full hook-up campground with a friendly staff. There is a Walmart fairly close, and a Publix about 13 miles west. Riverside Retreat offers a rustic camping experience with plenty of nature to explore. There are hiking paths where you may spot gopher tortoises, bobcats, or armadillos. A fishing pier is shown on their map, but campers are not allowed to use it. The bathhouse/laundry room is not in the best condition, but the owners are working to improve it. There is a 3 page book of rules, but enforcement seems to be random.
