Lake City Campground & Resort is a family-owned campground conveniently located just off of I-10 and 1 mile north of 441. It offers a variety of camping options for everyone, including tents, cabins, and RVs, with full hook-ups including WiFi and cable. The park is laid out well with paved and dirt/grass pull-through sites, side pedestals, and no overhead obstacles. It is surrounded by a wooded area, making it a quiet and safe place to stay. The campground is well-kept and clean, with a general store for snacks and trinkets, a recycling program to benefit an animal shelter, and a dog walk area. There is also a playground, pond with ducks, and a pool (although it is currently not usable). The staff is friendly and helpful, and they will even give you a shorter route back to the free ways that are not in the books. The only downsides are that the roads are narrow and the sites are soft dirt, so you may need to wear boots to avoid getting muddy. The cable tv reception is also poor, and the office hours are limited.
