The Spring is busy often, but a nice cool off when camping in the heat. There are waterfront sites that have a little less of that privacy foliage, but they are generally quite a bit bigger and at least some have wooden decks. Lithia Springs is a great place to get away and enjoy the outdoors. The campsites are spacious and have excellent tree coverage, making them perfect for hot Florida summers. The back loop sites are more secluded and closer to the water, and the restrooms in this area are much nicer and cleaner than the main park bathhouse. There is a great bike/hike trail in the park and a 20+ mile fishhawk preserve multi-path system. The spring area is beautiful and perfect for swimming and relaxing. There are also plenty of stores, shopping and dining just 2 miles away from the park. The campsites can be difficult to get into due to tight turns, trees, sign posts and soft sand, and the noise from the race track next door can be a bit much. However, the staff is friendly, the restrooms are clean, and the park is a great place to spend a few days in the summer.
