Hickory Hammock Wildlife Management Area is a 4,000-acre area in Highlands County, Florida. It is managed in cooperation with South Florida Water Management District. The area is home to white-tailed deer, feral hog, wild turkey, gopher tortoises, and swallow-tailed kites. Visitors can enjoy primitive camping on the Florida Trail and drive-in camping at the Equestrian Center. Horseback riding, off-road bicycling, deer hunting, turkey hunting, and hog hunting are popular activities. The area is also a site on the Great Florida Birding and Wildlife Trail.
