The beach is lovely and the sunsets are breathtaking. The campground is large and almost 100% shaded. The staff is friendly and welcoming. Cellular service is not great, so it is recommended to bring a Verizon hotspot or get a WiFi plan. It is somewhat pricey compared to off base facilities, but the convenience and atmosphere make it worth it. The winter season (October-April) is the busiest time and the campground can get extremely full. Rainy season can be an issue, as the campground does not drain or dry up very well. Overall, MacDill AFB FamCamp is a great place to stay with lots of amenities and a great location.

FamCamp - MacDill Force Support Squadron is a year-round campground that offers 359 full-service sites, 21 partial hook-up spots, 40 dry camp sites, and a tent camping area. The full-service sites come with electricity, water, waste disposal, cable TV, and optional telephone service. The campground also offers amenities such as laundry facilities, a pool, a golf course, a bowling center, a marina, and a fitness center. Activities include bowling, golfing, skeet shooting, and outdoor adventure tours. Discounts are available for FamCampers, including free bowling games, free golf carts, free rounds of skeet, and discounted boat rentals.
