Several older, rundown trailers remain on the property, some of which have broken windows and underbellies hanging down. There is trash scattered throughout the grounds, so it is best to avoid this park if possible. Be aware that some permanent residents occupy certain areas of the park with damaged picnic tables. However, staff are courteous and accommodating when inquiries are made, as one reviewer had a positive experience calling the office. The park is situated along I-10 so be prepared for loud road noise throughout the night. Some sites may not have access to electricity or water. However, certain RV sites offer good water pressure and 50amp power, and there are a few large parking sites available without the need for disconnecting the tow vehicle. While Deerwood Inn & Madison Campground is suitable for a one-night overnight stay, consider other parks if longer stays are planned.
