One of the highlights of staying at Ortona South is watching boats go through the lock system, which can be seen from the large recreation area designated for fishing and picnicking. The sites are well-maintained, level and spacious with a gravel patio area, covered picnic table, and cement parking pad. Each site has 50 amp and water hookups, however, none have sewer, but there is a dump station available. The park is perfect for relaxing, with paved roads and beautiful views. Although the park is a bit secluded, visitors can take a day trip to nearby towns such as Okeechobee and LaBelle, where they can enjoy a variety of restaurants and attractions. The friendly staff and fellow campers add to the overall positive atmosphere of the park. Overall, Ortona South is a great place for those seeking peace and quiet, surrounded by nature.
