What others are saying about this campground
Fred Gannon Rocky Bayou State Park is the place! Fred Gannon Rocky Bayou State Park is an ideal camping destination for those looking for a secluded, natural environment. Located just a few miles north of Henderson Beach State Park, the park is surrounded by lush, tropical greenery and split rail fencing. The campsites are spacious and come with a picnic table, fire ring, water and electric hookups. The park is big rig friendly with 40 campsites, water access, nature trails, and a great day use area. It also has a boat ramp and paddle board rentals. The park has an interesting history, it was part of Eglin AFB and during WWII it was used as a practice range by Doolittles raiders. There is no WiFi, no cable and probably no satellite coverage at any site with a roof mounted dish due to the heavily tree cover. The Restrooms and showers are in great condition and the park hosts keep them very clean and sanitary. The park is conveniently located near grocery stores, Walmart, and a variety of restaurants. It is also a short drive down to the gulf beaches and a great location for hiking, biking, boating, kayaking, canoeing, and fishing. The rate shown includes the $16 nightly fee for water and electric, plus 6% sales tax. The park personnel are always accommodating and friendly, making it a great place to stay.
