Waters Edge Motor Coach Resort is a small, upscale campground located on the Eastern edge of Lake Okeechobee. It offers 30 wide, deep sites that are covered with brick pavers and surrounded by tall palm trees and variegated leaf shrubs. Amenities include a large, beautiful Chickee hut, a clubhouse, a saltwater pool, a boat launch, a fish cleaning station, shuffleboard, horseshoes, and pétanque. Unfortunately, there are no laundry facilities or heated pool. The resort is 10 miles from stores and restaurants, but the roads are paved and wide and the park is very clean and well-maintained. There is a Tiki Hut for happy hour and a community fire pit with wood provided. The Wifi does not work, but the staff is friendly and accommodating. For those traveling from the Florida Keys or Miami area, Waters Edge Motor Coach Resort is a great oasis in the desert.
