Lake Okeechobee Outpost is a great campground for small groups, located on the shore of Lake Okeechobee in Pahokee, Florida. All sites are lakefront, with plenty of maneuvering room, and each site has its own fire ring. The grounds are kept immaculate and mowed, and there are three doggy waste stations across from the baths. The pool is not heated, but stays in the mid 70s all winter. There is a new restaurant onsite, and a Tiki Bar is set to open soon. Unfortunately, the Wifi is only available in the office, and the office closes at 4:30pm. The area is poor and has high crime rates, so it is not advised to leave the park after dark. Despite this, the campground is a beautiful spot with stunning sunsets, and the locals in the fishing breakwater and picnic area are friendly. The daily rate is $35, and monthly rates are around $350.
