Raptor Ranch at Tyndall AFB in Panama City, FL is a peaceful RV campground close to the beach. The campground is well-maintained and the staff are kind and caring. The sites are nicely spaced but some sections can be more cramped than others. The gravel roads can be sharp and pointy, and there are very few trees. The narrow, long concrete pads can be uncomfortable, but they do offer a nice patio space on the sharp gravel. The bay is lovely and there is a wildlife sanctuary where you can see bears, bobcats, alligators, rattlesnakes, and water moccasins. The beach on base is fantastic. The recreation building has clean showers and laundry facilities. The Exchange, Commissary, and gas station are nearby, but driving 15-30 minutes for meals may be required. The park is quiet except for the sounds of airplanes doing exercises. The community building with a kitchen and laundry facilities is a nice bonus. Overall, a beautiful campground with spacious and hook-up sites.
