What others are saying about this campground
Big Lagoon State Park is a small campground located on the Big Lagoon adjacent to the Gulf of Mexico and southwest of Pensacola. Despite damage left from Hurricane Sally, the park is still recovering and offers many great features for visitors. The campground offers concrete and sandy sites with power and water, picnic tables, and fire pits. The park also has several trails, including the Sand Pine and Estuary Trails, which are 3.5 and 2 miles respectively. The park is gated after dark and the keypad to let you in is easy to use. The bathhouses are clean and the showers have good hot water. The park is also close to the Naval Air Station in Pensacola, home of the Blue Angles and a great aviation museum. The campground is a great spot for bird watching and offers access to the lagoon and ocean. There are also plenty of restaurants and shopping in Pensacola. The only downside is that the sites can be quite sandy, so visitors should be prepared to sweep out their RV often.
