Periwinkle Park & Campground in Sanibel, FL was impacted by a strong storm that devastated the island. Despite this, the workers are working hard every day to get the campground back together. The park models mostly remained intact, but there was a lot of damage to the flowering bushes and palm trees. The beauty is there, but it will take a while to restore its former self. However, one downside is the odor coming from the nearby sewer processing plant. It made it difficult to sit outside and enjoy the weather. Bug spray is a must-have, as there are tiny gnats that bite. On a positive note, the beaches remain open and beautiful, and the bike paths are a fun activity. There are still a few great restaurants open, such as Doc Fords and Mudbug.

From The Campground

Periwinkle Park is a destination park on beautiful Sanibel Island, offering accommodations for campers from motorhomes to tents and everything in between. The park is just a 10-minute walk to white, sandy shell-lined beaches. Periwinkle Park offers complete hookups, picnic tables, restrooms and showers, laundry, ice, LP gas, and a pavilion available for private and public functions. Beach, golf, shops, and dining are all within walking distance. Please note that dogs are not allowed, credit cards are not accepted, and Wi-Fi is not provided. If you need Wi-Fi during your stay, you must supply your own hotspot. Verizon has the best coverage in our area.
