MacDill AFB FAMCAMP is located at the south end of MacDill AFB, with a nearby beach, marina, and golf course. The campground is popular among snowbirds, but since they have left, there are spots available for short stays. The cost of the campground is inexpensive, breaking down to about $28 dollars a day. The park provides a laundry facility, community lawn equipment, and access to a beach area with playground, concrete covered picnic area, and volleyball nets. Unfortunately, the pet areas are not kept well, with grass that is way overgrown, leading to an abundance of insects. There are also alligators in some of the waterways, so campers should be aware. The cable can go out for several days, but there are local stations that can be picked up with an HD antenna. Despite its drawbacks, MacDill AFB FAMCAMP is a great place to stay with access to many activities and amenities.
