Manatee Hammock Campground is a well-run county park situated on the Indian River with stunning views of the Kennedy Space Center launch complex. It features a heated pool, a rec hall, a fishing pier, a large off-leash dog park, a canoe/kayak launch, full hook-up sites, a handicap accessible fishing dock, and a 24/7 boardwalk. The campground is conveniently located near SR528 and the Kennedy Space Center, and is an hour away from the theme parks. Unfortunately, there is a significant amount of tree canopy and loud noises at night from the highway racers or train, and there is no playground for the kids. The sites are not the largest and it is a bit cramped, and the roads are dirt and crushed shells. There is also no trash pickup, and the Wi-Fi is centrally located in the recreation center. Despite these drawbacks, Manatee Hammock is a great place to star gaze at night, watch rocket launches, and enjoy the scenery.

Manatee Hammock Campground is a 26.45 acre campground located in a well shaded and quiet hammock of pines, palms and foliage providing habitat to squirrels, birds, and tropical creatures. The river offers shoreline fishing and a perfect view of space launches at Kennedy Space Center. Campers also enjoy access to a recreation hall with a small swimming pool, a fire ring, a mid-sized pavilion, two shuffleboard courts, and a horse shoe pit. Offering a secluded oasis with easy access to urban amenities, Manatee Hammock is a perfect launch pad to Space Coast parks and attractions, and to East Central Florida.
